Picking a Paint Color That Actually Works in Houston Light
Bright Texas sun bleaches color and shifts undertones. A "warm white" in a Pacific Northwest house can read peach in Houston.
Three rules:
- Test paint on every wall — north-facing reads cooler, south-facing reads warmer
- Look at samples in the morning AND late afternoon
- Avoid stark whites — they show every smudge in our humidity
If you're unsure, we're happy to bring color samples on the estimate visit. Better to spend 20 minutes choosing than repaint a whole room.
